Gli Stephen Dedalus nascono e producono musica dal 2009, non sempre uccidono gli insetti, amano il Rock, sanno pensare, sanno non pensare, sono tre, due sono fratelli, in tre sono fraterni, guardano splatter, leggono libri, giocano ai videogiochi, sognano gli States, suonano la chitarra, guardano avanti, suonano il basso, dicono “yeah!”, suonano la batteria, alzano il volume, suonano anche gli oggetti, soffrono l’amore, non suonano la fisarmonica, liberano la mente, hanno una fisarmonica, nel 2009 producono il demo Amateur Homemade, registrano 5 pezzi originali, passano l’aspirapolvere, conoscono Bukowski, cantano sotto la doccia, si sentono stretti, non vanno al mercato, fanno l’amore con spirito, scrivono questa bio, sono sinceri, suonano senza ritegno, voltano pagina, si affezionano a Triple H, ascoltano il country, scappano, vanno all’università, smettono di andarci, ironizzano, studiano da soli, apprendono, nel 2010 producono l’album Smoke, altri 10 pezzi originali, prendono l’aereo, attaccano poster sui poster, inchiodano polistirolo ai muri, inventano altre storie d’amore, chiudono le porte, schiacciano pedali, citano Bill Hicks, impazziscono, suonano sotto la neve, parlano, parlano, bevono, ridono, fumano, parlano, tornano a casa, abbattono le paure, tentano la svolta mistica, diminuiscono, affittano stanze, fanno collage, fotografano gatti, incontrano i Jesus Crysler Superfart, nel 2011 producono insieme alla 300records il secondo album SAY IT RIGHT!, pubblicano 12 tracce, non aspettano altri pollici opponibili, lavorano, si rendono indipendenti, guadagnano, spendono, fanno sesso come mai prima, s’innamorano, migliorano la strumentazione, fanno concerti, leggono Nietzsche, visitano la Francia, pianificano partenze, fanno altri concerti, cominciano a mettere i punti, nel 2013 registrano il nuovo Ep “III” che include 5 tracce inedite, co-prodotto con la 300records.
Gli Stephen Dedalus sono attualmente in cerca di un’etichetta che, come loro, creda che il rock sia il modo migliore per sistemare le cose con il mondo e con le persone e le culture che ci vivono.
Non chiediamo miracoli, solo di incontrare qualcuno che si prenda cura della nostra musica e che magari ci porti fuori a cena qualche volta.

Stephen Dedalus were born in 2009, when Nicola Paccagnani (a guitarist/singer) asked his former schoolmate Nicola Barchiesi (a drummer who used to sing too) if he’d like to get together in a rock band. He said “OK”. The drummer’s little brother, hearing some good noise comin’ out of the rehersal studio, picked up somebody else’s bass and joined the band.
In 2009 they recorded a demo EP which they ironically called “Amateur Homemade” containing 5 original songs. One year later, in 2010, they produced their first album “Smoke”, a 10-tracks journey through rock, folk and blues. “Say It Right!”, their second album, came out in 2011, co-produced with the independent label 300Records. A powerful rock experience influenced by 40 years of blues and psychedelic rock which looks into the future too. A must hear record.
At the end of 2012 they started the recording sessions for a new 5-tracks EP that finally saw the light on March 2013, by the original name of “Maya”, that suddenly changed into “III” when the band realized the world didn’t explode on 21/12/12. This record shows a new approach to the writing and arrangements.
The band is currently looking for a label that believes in rock as the best way to set things right with the world and all the people who are spending their lives on it.
They’re not asking for miracles. They only want to meet someone who takes care of their music and may bring them out for dinner sometime.
